"We have been working with Abby Vang at this location since March, when she first began working here as a new agent. Although Abby may be relatively new to the profession, don’t let that fool you—she is knowledgeable, responsive, and quick to help. Whenever we had a question, she either answered it immediately or consulted her supervisor and got back to us promptly.

Through Abby, we obtained several policies, including auto, homeowners, and rental-property insurance. We initially purchased homeowners insurance when we bought our new home. When we decided to rent out our previous home, Abby helped us convert its homeowners policy into a rental-property policy and made the entire transition smooth and easy. She has handled every question and situation with professionalism, patience, grace, and understanding.

Our only concern is not with Abby—she has been fantastic—but with State Farm and the insurance industry more generally. Our State Farm policy has a deductible equal to 1% of the coverage amount, compared with the 0.5% deductible we had with some previous insurers. Consumers should carefully compare deductibles as well as premiums when evaluating policies.

We switched to State Farm primarily because our previous insurance companies repeatedly increased our premiums, despite our having no traffic violations, accidents, or property claims. Unfortunately, long-term customers often seem to face higher premiums at renewal rather than being rewarded for their loyalty. We left American Family Insurance for Allstate for this reason and eventually left Allstate for State Farm for the same reason.

It is important to understand that premium increases are generally determined by the insurance company and are beyond an individual agent’s control. Abby is an outstanding agent, and we highly recommend her. At the same time, like any responsible customer, we will continue comparing coverage and rates if State Farm significantly increases our premiums in the future."
